Would it be possible for you all at Odd Lots to do an episode addressing the ratios of trade volume and net position ownership in securities between retain and institutional investors? Specifically post covid numbers would be extremely enlightening and a huge scoop in my opinion.
Alternative request: do you know of anyone who has done work regarding the potential for moral hazard and cartel behavior presented by the preeminent presence of index funds? As in, when an index fund has enough money moving into it and there is widely positive sentiment in the retail investment sector for said index fund, non-competitive behavior – between firms included in the fund – is objectively the most rational and responsibe course of action. Would really love to see what the data says on that.
Would there be any way to provide a transcript to the podcast you both do? I have a hearing loss, so being able to read what is said would be very helpful. I am especially interested in your podcast on value investing.
Ah, I’m really sorry about your hearing loss. We’ve had multiple requests for Odd Lots transcripts from listeners over the years. I’ll see what I can do.
